An Italian Easter Song

Buona Pasqua (Happy Easter) from Italy!! This Easter is, undoubtedly, the strangest that most of us have ever celebrated. And in the midst of this pandemic storm, many of us feel sad, alone, and closed in. But to help ease that, I’ve got a little gift for you from our church.

An Easter song (in Italian) that proclaims the good news that in Christ is our hope. He is our light, our strength, and our song! Our Cornerstone, the solid rock on which we stand. Firm and steadfast even in the most sever droughts or storms.

In Christ alone our hope is found!

Christ is risen!

The best Easter gift we can give is to proclaim the good news that Christ is risen! “Bursting forth in glorious Day, Up from the grave He rose again!”

No jail or government decree can ever take away the freedom we have in Christ! No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever snatch us out of His hand! All other ground is sinking sand. Here in the power of Christ we’ll stand!

In Christ we have eternal freedom to…

  • To know him and feel his presence.
  • To hear his voice and talk with him.
  • To place our trust him and not in shaky things.
  • To rejoice in him.
  • And to praise and worship him.

For you: an Easter hymn directly from Italy!

A Te Gesù (In Christ Alone) sung by members of our worship team during our online Easter morning meeting. I think they did a great job, especially considering that it was done with each person in their own separate home! Bravi! Check it out below!

Easter has always been my favorite holiday, and my heart was very sad to not celebrate His resurrection in church with my brethren. So this song blessed my heart immensely, and I hope it will bless yours as well.

Buona Pasqua from Italy – as we celebrate Christ’s life and victory over death!

A Te, Gesù (In Christ Alone)

Read the Italian words below. Or go here for the English words.

A Te, Gesù, io canterò, Luce e speranza sei per me.

Ci riscattò, ci trasformò, In Lui, vittoria e pace abbiam.

I have to tell you that reading this now during the Advent season is almost more powerful. You can’t separate the cradle from the cross. The two are intricately and eternally entwined in God’s most amazing promise and His fulfillment. Thanks for this gift, my friend.

Oh yes, Dayle. Easter and Christmas, eternally entwined. Without Christmas, Easter couldn’t happen. But without Easter, Christmas would have remained incomplete, with no real significance. But I love the way you put it. You can’t separate the cradle from the cross!! AMEN!

Thanks Karen, I’m so glad the song blessed you! We are fine, thanks. We have not had many cases here in our area so things have remained pretty calm. I see that things are starting to get bad over there though. Hope you all stay safe and well.

One of my favorite praise hymns also. Your church’s worship team is very talented, but better yet, they sing and play from their hearts. A blessed day after Easter, Sheila. He is risen!

I agree Nancy. I think it’s one of the most beautifull hymns of all time! And yes, our team is very talented. But like you said, it comes from the heart. All they want to do is glorify God. We pray he will always get all the glory for all that we do!

Beautiful! In Christ Alone is one of my all-time favorite hymns. What a wonderful testimony to unity and the heart of those who love and are loved by our Resurrected Lord. Thanks for this sweet Easter gift, my friend. There’s something about hearing an old favorite in another language that expands the scope of heaven for me.
