Meteorologists say Italy is on track to record its hottest summer ever. The heat certainly has been blistering, and the humidity high.
I’ve essentially gone into hibernation. Yes, I know hibernation occurs in the winter, but I’ve invented summer hibernation!
Biologists define hibernation as a deep, energy-saving state of rest that certain animals use to survive cold winters or times when food is scarce.
On the other hand, summer hibernation is a state of rest that certain people use to conserve energy during blistering summers or times when freshness and cool air are hard to find!
During my summer hibernation, when I only go out for absolutely necessary reasons or to swim in the sea, I’ve been working on my blogs and making some important changes.
“Signora Sheila” is now bilingual!
I mean, of course, that the blog is now bilingual; I’ve been bilingual for years!
Some readers may have already noticed this change. Many of my Italian friends have requested to have Italian-language posts, so I’ve been gradually translating them. It’s a big task, so I ask that Italian readers be patient during this process.
This also means twice as much content, as well double pages, tags, and categories. Such a large amount of content was difficult to organize. So, I’ve started another blog!
My new blog: “Italian-at-heart

I’ve transfered the content that is “all about Italy” to Italian at Heart — my new blog “where every heart beats Italian!”
It’s dedicated to Italy and all things Italian! Join me and together we’ll explore the Bel Paese, experience everyday Italian life, and discover fun and unusual facts about this fascinating land and its people!
If you are Italian-at-heart, then my new blog is for you!
Greater Clarity
I’ve found that this streamlines both blogs and gives them a clearer focus.
Signora Sheila now features new categories chosen to help us focus on the “true dolce vita” that God wants each of us to have. After all, that is the purpose of this blog!
